Jinse Finance reported that on September 29, according to foreign media analysis, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi expressed the hope that the United States’ final response to the Strait of Hormuz proposal can be communicated through a Qatari intermediary before Tuesday. This means that the door to diplomacy is not yet completely closed. On Monday, oil prices rose by more than $4 as Trump rejected Iran's proposal, but later gave up most of those gains as hopes for further talks between the two sides revived. Oil prices rose again today as supply concerns continued to dominate the market. If the subsequent U.S. response sends a signal that negotiations are progressing, market hopes for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz could quickly grow and push crude oil prices to give back some of the geopolitical premium. On the other hand, if the negotiations frustrate again, the market will have to re-face the problems that have been difficult to solve in the past few months. (Golden Ten)
